Was thinkin of buying an apartment in Bulgaria but was turned off when some one told me that you have to pay rent to the bulgarian mafia if you own property in their country, i dont know how true this is but seemingly they wreck the property if you try avoid them.

Please advise me: How much would it cost to rent a one-bedroom property in Sofia? How much rent in advance or deposit are the landlords allowed to ask for when renting property.
