How Can I Get Bulgarian Citizenship Or Eu Passport As An American?

My father is Bulgarian, owns property in Bulgaria, and is also a US citizen. I have a half sibling who is Bulgarian. I cant seem to find much info on the internet on the process since Bulgaria joined the EU. I do not want to give up my US citizenship which i was told a few years back that i would have to do, and I do not want to “live” for several years in Bulgaria, but i would like to obtain an EU passport so that I may stay and visit and/ or work in Bulgaria with my family without having to leave every 45 days. My father has also indicated that he would like to leave the property to me when he passes.
Many people have dual US-EU citizenship, but each country’s requirements differ. Call the Bulgarian embassy–best info there.
