I say YES!
Striking a child is cruel and only teaches them that violence is the answer to get what they want!
Many countries in Europe have banned spanking and yet juvenile crime rate is very low in those countries. Spanking can mentally damage children and cause them to grow up into violent killers.
These countries have banned parents from hitting their children.

To all the opposers – What gives you the right to smack your child; the child is NOT your property you have no right to inflict pain.
Spanking or striking a child is NOT the answer. It promotes violence.
There is a large difference from beating a kid and smacking them you idiot…….

Apparently you didn’t get much physical discipline, judging by your other posts and questions. Not loving physical discipline. I’ve seen kids who are “positively reinforced”, and they are selfish, bratty little kids. I seen kids who were lovingly spanked as very small children, and those kids as two and three year olds are more polite, obedient, sharing, and content children I’ve ever seen. They don’t whine and throw a fit when they don’t get their way. They still have to be corrected sometimes, but it’s so much more peaceful for the kids and the parents.
Physical discipline is not abuse. Why do parents let strangers stab their children with needles? Isn’t that a horrific thing? It makes them cry and scares them out of their poor little minds. Children get shots to protect from disease. Children get spanked to learn how to behave in society, and to respect authority.
That being said, physical discipline must be given in love, not as a result of lashing out in anger. How to you discipline in love? Think about it. I would hate spanking my own child. But if I didn’t do it, I would have children that grew up knowing there wouldn’t be sever consequences for what they do. They also wouldn’t be as obedient. So with that, you tell me what’s best for your kid.
Why do you ask so many question like this? It’s like you want the government to raise our kids for us. You want parents banned from everything!
