What Are The Home Prices In Brazil?

I have heard that homes in Brazil are cheap. Because I am absolutely in love with the country, I was going to research to see if it’s possible to move there. However, after a certain research spent online, I realized that a lot of “gringos” (Europeans) have already purchased most of the property for cheap just to sell it back a lot more expansive. This is really so unfair! Some people actually want to move there, but because of those gringos who only care about money, this becomes impossible. The point is, that property in Braizl has went up like a sky rocket. I’ve looked, looked and looked. Some one bedroom little home on a beach can be up to $250,000!!! Crazy prices! Houses in Florida are a lot cheaper than they are in Brazil. So my question is, all these expansive offers, are they the result of what is posted online by gringos, or is it truly a reality in the entire country?

  1. The brazilian economy has grown a lot in the past few years resulting in house prices increasing. I believe that the best way to proceed is to get to know someone from Brazil, and when I say that I mean get to know really well cause you don’t want to be taken advantage of, and with help of someone who knows the place you might be able to find just the right spot for a fair price. I particularly like the south of Brazil better than anywhere else, and no, I am not from the south of Brazil! Why don’t you do some work in Brazil for a while ,if that is an option, then you will have the time and the information to make such a decision & hopefully find a nice spot!
Good luck whatever way you go about with your life!!
Brew-No! 925 – have you ever heard of the saying : the grass always looks greener over the fence? This person wants to move to Brazil for the same reason you lived in usa … :-)

  2. A ton of foreign money flooded into Brazil to speculate in housing and financial markets. Wait a few years for another global financial crisis and then buy. When those guys who buy and don’t live there can’t afford to just have empty houses sitting around you can pick it up for cheap. This happens everywhere, like Thailand before 1997.

  3. Hey, I’m Brazilian and I live in the Southern state of Paraná. I don’t know where you are planning to move but, indeed, houses on the beach are usually more expensive than the “regular” ones and yes, the real estate here has had a “boom” and prices went through the roof in some places. I’d say, if you want to live close to the beach, houses are cheaper if it is like some blocks away from the ocean. Those that really overview the water tend to be way more expensive. But it really comes down to the city you’re looking at. I’ve heard that Florianopolis, for example, a beach city, has really expensive houses. And stuff in Sao Paulo, even though it is some hours away from the beach, is expensive, just like everything else in the entire city. Yeah, but it really depends on where you want to live.
And why would you move from the States to Brazil? I lived a year in California, in the Bay Area, and fell in love with the country and the people. If I could, I would had stayed there forever.
