Go to safenest.com and visit one close to u to educate yourself about your rights. If u have being abused u can filed a divorce with battered espouse and can be legally in the country. Form I-751 if I recall. Make police reports of all verbal and physical abuse. I have being to court because of my espouse too. The judge did not considered the threats (emails, voice mail, text message) just police reports. The more u have the better. Take your name out the credit cards and make a post nuptial sayng you are responsible only for your expenses not his. he will tray to revenge and ruin your credit for good so u have to depend on him. U certainly did not came here to suffer like that right? get yourself a better one, at list someone willing to get marry for sure and not take financial advantage of you!!
Are you illegally in the U.K. or the U.S.? If you’re here in the U.S., you could go to the local Legal Services office. Look it up in the phone book, they’ll handle the divorce for you for free or almost free. However, you also need to get your immigration status fixed (i.e. become legal) otherwise, you may have real problems accessing some of the services you probably need. Good luck.
